Manager's Note
Dear Customer
The Global Network Partners' meeting in Amsterdam with Intergraph's management team was unfortunately cancelled last month due to volcanic action. However, the meeting was subsequently conducted via a web link at the beginning of May when Intergraph presented their plans for product development and future positioning. This highlighted some exciting plans for the integration of CAD and analysis software over the coming months and years, in addition to the further development of all products. When specific details are released by Intergraph we will include these in future Newswires.
Best wishes

Graduates and experienced vessel engineers can benefit from learning Intergraph's versatile vessel design software, PV Elite
Just a quick reminder for interested attendees that the next PV-Elite training course will take place from 25th to 27th May and places are still available. Please see here for details, booking etc. IE6 users here.
PRG Software Training
The dates, trainer and agenda are finalised and this will be the first time this course has been delivered in the UK. Don’t miss the opportunity to attend 4 days of 'state of the art' training by Paulin Research Group.
Tony Paulin has created the course which will be tutored by Fred Hendrix. The course will focus on how the software is used to resolve everyday piping and vessel issues, and demonstrate software compliance with mandatory ASME VIII Div 2 A08 design code.

Hints & Tips
CAESAR II
Friction can be controlled on a 'load case by load case' basis by defining a scale factor for the coefficient of friction in the static load case editor.
"Warnings" produced by the "Error checker" can be reviewed at the output level in a warning report.
PV-Elite
PV-Elite will support the insertion of DIN and ANSI Flanges in the same model.
PV-Elite can read nozzle loads from a CAESAR II output file.
AFT Fathom
Aft Fathom offers several non-Newtonian fluid models including Power Law and Bingham Plastic.
AFT Impulse
AFT Impulse offers a standard set of properties for several fluids, and also offers the optional Chempak database with seven hundred fluids.
Chempak allows users to obtain properties for liquid mixtures.
FE Pipe
FE Pipe is a finite element analysis tool specifically designed for use in the pressure vessel and piping (PVP) industry.
FE Pipe rapidly creates the model geometry, element mesh, applied loads, and boundary conditions based on standard dimensions.
Results are presented in terms of ASME requirements instead of generalized stress tensors and stress intensities as would typically be found in general FEA tools.
