This month sees representatives from Fern and other Global Network Partners meeting with Intergraph’s Senior Strategic Presidents and Vice Presidents to co-ordinate planning for future business and product development.  We will keep you informed in future Newswires. 

As the summer draws nearer, our July CAESAR II Statics and Dynamics training courses are filling quite nicely; please register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Also, look out for the release of CAESAR II Version 5.30 in the coming months which will contain a new design code, existing code updates, new databases and enhancements to graphics, modelling and interfacing.  We envisage that beta testing will commence shortly.

CAESAR II V5.30 beta testing

Beta testing for Intergraph CAESAR II Version 5.30 will be commencing shortly.  Beta testing is extremely important for the integrity of the release itself.  Although Intergraph will carry out extensive testing, it is impossible to test new software to the degree that users are able to do so in the field as users subject the software to their own set of requirements with special models, load cases, boundary conditions etc. 

If any existing CAESAR II customers wish to be involved in beta testing, please contact Steve Gillott who will arrange for the software to be sent.

Order Processing, Software Update Codes etc

Intergraph’s recent acquisition of COADE has resulted in the introduction of new US export documentation tocomply with the tighter US regulations. 

Fern’s customers have become used to next day delivery or even same day delivery for update codes. However, delivery times from the US have increased, with even code clearances taking up to a week. 

We would ask you to take this into account when ordering.

PRG and AFT deliveries are currently being maintained at 2-3 working days.

AFT Fathom

By pressing the F5 function key while in a pipe or junction specifications window, you will jump to the next highest numbered pipe or junction.  By pressing the CTRL key along with F5, you will jump to the next lowest pipe or junction.

You can show the pipe or junction names on the Workspace by selecting the checkbox on the pipe or junction specifications window Optional tab.

AFT Impulse

AFT Impulse calculates the effect of pressure surges resulting from valve closure/opening, pump start-up/run down/power failure and other transient events in liquid systems which cause dangerous unbalanced forces within piping systems.  The unbalanced force data may then be output for each part of the piping system for dynamic analysis by CAESAR II.  The dynamic analysis may be in the form of Time History or Dynamic Load Factor versus Frequency.

Intergraph PV Elite

PV Elite supports Pressure Vessel Analysis to the requirements of ASME VIII Division 2 2007 and 200 4 A-06.   Note, it is mandatory that new pressure vessels designed to the requirements of ASME VIII Division 2 use the 2007 A08 version (see also PRG Software below).

PRG Software

The ASME Section VIII Div. 2 2007 Edition, A08 Addenda has been implemented within PRG Programs (FE Pipe, NozzlePRO….).   This includes Rigorous Fatigue Option, Welded Fatigue Curves, Code Control Form for all Programs and Templates, Code Updates for WRC 107/297 Calculations, SPS Replacing 3Sm, Updated Fatigue Damage Report Formats and PRG welded fatigue curves.
