Hints & Tips
Disconnected Pipelines.
Error 2022 when running ISOGEN, or erratic CAESAR II Out and the Node numbering, points to disconnected pipe in the model.
To avoid having a disconnected pipe use the <last point> option whenever possible when placing components. This will automatically snap the new component to the connecting point of the previous component, ensuring connectivity.
To locate and correct the disconnection first check that all items have the correct Line Number as a stray item with the wrong line number cannot be exported even if it looks OK in the model.
Isolate the required line number using the LINEVIEW palette.
Additionally, use the CADWorx continuity checker to find any disconnected areas in the line. Such points will be marked by the continuity checker and can help track down the disconnection.
CADWorx P&ID Multiple Edit
The CADWorx P&ID Multiple Edit dialogue can be used to edit multiple P&ID items at the same time.
There are two modes:
- Global Edit which shows one row of all the common fields for the selected items
- Multiple Edit which shows each selected item on a separate row and displays the common fields
Users can either select items on the drawing or use the lists of Component Categories. The selected items are highlighted on the drawing with a number idenfying the row.
Upon selection, users can edit the fields and update any attributes for the selected items. Changes can be saved by pressing the Update Db and Dwg button which will save the changes to the database and the drawing.
CADWorx Design - opening multiple DWGs
It is possible to build up the CDR model using a number of dwg files. This is quicker than trying to xref all the different dwg files together into a master model in AutoCAD.
To do this, simply check the “Merge w/ Current Model” check box which will merge all selected dwg files into one session of CDR as one single model, allowing the user to navigate and review the full model. |
