Dear Client

The year to date has been hectic with shows, training courses for customers and staff, webinars, presentations, and of course a good level of sales for which we thank every one of you.

The last event on my calendar was the COADE Global Partner Meeting, July 7th - 11th and held in Canada, an area rich in oil and gas resources, as well as having fabulous scenery.

The New Generation CADWorx software that is in development looks awesome, so too is the PV Fabricator product that is already released and having a big impact, with sales exceeding expectations.

Fern's new web site will soon be avaialble. It has new content, new links, new training sections, more stuff generally. It should give you faster access to the data you want.

Customer Visits

A number of customer visits were undertaken in June to perform Account Reviews (see June Newswire) and to show new software.
PV Fabricator and AFT Fluid Flow were shown at various locations, and both were very well received.

PV Fabricator increases productivity by automating the creation of pressure vessel fabrication deliverables; up to 80% increases in productivity can be achieved when used with PV Elite.

AFT performs steady state and transient analysis of fluid flow in piping networks and our visits established that many companies still use manual calculations and spreadsheet methods to calculate pressure drop, size pumps, size valves, predict waterhammer loads and much more.
AFT software saves time and provides a quick return on investment by performing these calculations quickly and easily; a Scenario Manager allows the creation of multiple ‘what if’ situations rather than relying on experience to determine worst case paths in a piping network.

Training

CAESAR II training took place from 15th to 24th June with more delegates attending Dynamics training than Statics; perhaps an indication that more Dynamics analysis is being undertaken within the industry!
Due to the holiday season, scheduled training is now quiet until September.

Download a database merge facility that allows users to merge CAESAR II databases into one file.

A mass spacing utility can be downloaded which assists in the computation of the minimum mass lump spacing for dynamic analysis.

There are 31 improvements, changes and new features in the latest PV Elite build (June 2009). Download it here.

Software News

PV Elite

A June build was issued for PV Elite and can be downloaded.
The file is called pv090610.exe and includes minor fixes to the software and a number of enhancements.

Tank

Changes continue to be made to the Tank software in order to comply with the changing requirements of the API 650 code committee. When these changes are finalised the European code EN-14015 will be implemented into Tank.
