Welcome to June’s Newsletter

This month sees the retirement of Dave Bennett.  Dave has been an extremely valuable part of the Fern Technical Support team for the last 8 years. The Fern team all express their graditude for the hard work, enthusiasm, dedication, ability and, last but not least, cheeriness and sense of humour that Dave brought to his work.  Thank you Dave. 

Two weeks ago Intergraph visited Fern to review our service levels, our team and how we did things.  They were impressed with our capabilities, knowledge and support ethos of doing everything we reasonably can to keep you, our customers, fully satisfied with our service.  We look forward to being part of the growth surrounding Intergraph’s family of products.

Intergraph CAESAR II Training

Our June training was again a success. The next training courses will take place after summer, so don't delay and secure your seat today.

Intergraph PV-Elite Training

Graduates and experienced vessel engineers can benefit from learning Intergraph's versatile vessel design software, PV Elite.

The next PV-Elite training course will take place from 9th to 11th November and places are now available.

Customer specific training courses are still available throughout the year for both CAESAR II and PV Elite.  They take place either at Fern or customer site and are in addition to the scheduled courses in these products. 

PRG Software Training

The dates, trainer and agenda are finalised and this will be the first time this course has been delivered in the Netherlands.  Don’t miss the opportunity to attend 4 days of 'state of the art' training by Paulin Research Group.
Tony Paulin has created the course which will be tutored by Fred Hendrix. The course will focus on how the software is used to resolve everyday piping and vessel issues, and demonstrate software compliance with mandatory ASME VIII Div 2 A08 design code.

AFT Arrow Update

A new maintenance release dated June 8, 2010, is available for download by AFT Arrow 4.0 and Arrow Add-on Modules license holders here, where you will also find instructions on how to download and install the update.

The update file set includes a 'readme.txt' file providing a description of the revisions in this and earlier maintenance releases.

Hints & Tips

Intergraph CAESAR II

Piping models created by designers using CADWorx Plant can be seamlessly transferred into CAESAR II for Analysis.

The LIST facility provides ‘block’ operations for duplication, rotation and renumbering groups of elements.  Within the Element List, select a block of elements and right click for a menu with further options

Intergraph PV Elite

Nozzles and other details can be graphically moved along the length of a vessel by using the Translate Detail button.  Select the detail to be moved, select the Translate Detail button and click and drag on the detail to move it to a new position.

AFT All Products

You can quickly find a particular pipe or junction on the Workspace by using the Find feature on the View menu.

AFT Arrow

AFT Arrow can model systems that experience sonic choking, including multiple sonic choking points?

Context sensitive help is available for all input fields by pressing the F1 button
