Director's Note
Dear Client
The year to date has been hectic with shows, training courses for customers and staff, webinars, presentations, and of course a good level of sales for which we thank every one of you.
The last event on my calendar was the COADE Global Partner Meeting, July 7th - 11th and held in Canada, an area rich in oil and gas resources, as well as having fabulous scenery.
The New Generation CADWorx software that is in development looks awesome, so too is the CADWorx Fabricator product that is already released and having a big impact, with sales exceeding expectations.
Fern's new web site will soon be avaialble. It has new content, new links, new training sections, more stuff generally. It should give you faster access to the data you want.
Best wishes
Ian Borrington
Director

Case Study - Siemens VAI
Many projects are won not only because of the reputation of SVAI’s exceptionally highly skilled project management teams but also their willingness to take on new technologies which keeps them in a dominant position in the world market.
Read how Siemens VAI gained improvements in productivity following the introduction of CADWorx.
Training
If you are allocating budget to end of year for training, we still have places available on scheduled courses for September, October and November.
If you are unable to attend the scheduled dates, please contact us to agree a mutually convenient timing for your preferred course. |

Hints & Tips
Those using a custom DBCodes.dat file who now want to use multiple custom DBCodes.dat files (e.g. different DBCodes.dat file for each specification) should create DBCodes.dat files with the name DBCodes_<spec>.dat, <spec> being the name of the specification with which you will associate the DBCodes.dat file.
Open the Specification Editor inside CADWorx, select the specification you want to associate with the DBCodes.dat file, click the Info button and enter DBCodes_<spec>.dat in the Database Codes field.
Save the changes and you will now be able to use multiple DBCodes.dat files within a single project.
If Insulation is not showing on your ISOGEN isometrics, ensure that Option Switch 61, in the Options Editor, is set to ‘Show Insulation alongside Pipe and Components’.
This will then allow ISOGEN to display the insulation on the isometric.
To automatically create ISOGEN isometrics with a different file name to the line number, do the following:
Open the Project Manager, go to the Drawing Control tab and change the Plot File Prefix to include the prefix you want the isometric to have.
This Prefix must end in a hyphen and ISOGEN will then automatically sequentially number the isometrics produced, e.g. ISO-001, ISO-002 etc.
Process Flow Sheets
Chemical Engineering Progress runs an article series called 'Back to Basics which aim to provide information on engineering terms, procedures and best practices. COADE was asked to develop an article highlighting the difference between various types of process flow sheets. The article entitled Designing a Process Sheet outlines the unique purpose and requirements of the Block Flow Diagram, the Process Flow Diagram and the Piping and Instrument Diagram. Download PDF.
COADE User Conference
With three days of interactive sessions and discussion groups, you will gain valuable insight into how COADE software can maximize your design process, improve your workflow efficiency, increase your capabilities and deliver faster, higher value return on investment.
